Bethel Free Will Baptist Church is conveniently located just north of Kinston on Highway 258 North (visit here for a map). The church campus is home to a 1000-seat newly renovated sanctuary and narthex, dual educational wings for classrooms, a fellowship hall, a children's worship facility (Paramore building), and a gymnasium. Parking is available around the main entrance to the sanctuary, as well as adjacent to the Paramore building, and is accessible from both Hwy 258 North or Banks School Road.
A Welcome Center is available in the narthex just before you enter the main sanctuary. Greeters and ushers are available to assist you in making your first visit a welcomed one. A nursery is provided for small children, and services are also available for younger children. Ask for assistance at the Welcome Center with any of these needs.
Bethel Free Will Baptist Church is also the home of Bethel Christian Academy. Bethel Christian Academy is a comprehensive christian school serving grades K4 through 12, offering a full academic curriculum and athletics. More information about the school can be found here.
Who are Free Will Baptists?
Free Will Baptist roots can be traced to England as early as 1611. The first FWB church in America was begun by Paul Palmer in 1727 in Perquimans County, North Carolina. Some years later, in 1780, under the leadership of Benjamin Randall, Free Will Baptists were established in the northeast at New Durham, New Hampshire. From these early beginnings, Free Will Baptists in America have had a continuing ministry. Today, the National Association of Free Will Baptists is active in 36 states, 13 foreign countries, and a number of the islands of the sea. The work of the National Association is promoted from the National Offices and Randall House Publications located in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Legacy Project, our capital stewardship campaign, has LAUNCHED! The project is a 3-year campaign to raise between 1.2 & 1.5 million dollars. The Legacy Project is phase one of our vision for the future of Bethel Church. Through this campaign we pray that God will bless us with the finances to eliminate our current indebtedness, carry out some facility improvements, and begin to make provisions for new projects while continuing to minister in this community and around the world.
For the next 40 days, we will be reading through The Legacy Project 40-day Devotional Guide. This guide is available to you through daily e-mails and below in a downloadable PDF. If you wish to have a hard copy you can pick a copy up at the Connection Center or the Church Office. It is our desire for this campaign to be a spiritual journey for our church, not just a financial journey.
Below is a video that explains the entire Legacy Project. We hope that you will take this opportunity to watch the video and learn how you can be involved in this significant moment in the history of Bethel Church. May God bless you as you partner with us in this campaign.
